What would you do if you won the lottery, or got your hands on a huge jackpot at River Belle Online Casino Canada? Buy a new car? Quit your job? For a lot of people, the answer is travel to the places they’ve always dreamed of, and we can completely understand!

If the idea of journeying to new places, or even just imagining the journey, excites you, but you aren’t sure of where to go, allow us to make a few suggestions. Time Magazine compiled a list of the World’s Greatest Places 2019, and they’re 100 destinations worthy of any travel bucket list.

Time’s Selection Process

This is Time’s second annual list of the World’s Greatest Places. The magazine took destination suggestions from experts, editors and contributors and then evaluated them according to key factors. The range of factors they looked at included originality, sustainability, influence, innovation and quality.

The results were divided into 3 categories, where to visit, where to stay and where to eat and drink. We chose one spot from each of those to highlight for you. Read on to find out where we think you should be going.

Where to Visit

There were so many incredible experiences on this list that it was really difficult to narrow it down. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland in Anaheim, California? The Museum of Black Civilisations in Dakar, Senegal? Egypt’s Red Sea Mountain Trail?

Whether you’re after ancient history, popular culture or breath-taking nature, you’ll find plenty of dream destinations. Ultimately, after a lot of debate, we settled on one as our favourite. In our opinion the Mori Building Digital Art Museum in Tokyo, Japan, is an absolute must-visit.

The museum is the first site that is totally dedicated to digital art. Physical installations and visual projections combine to create virtual fields of grass, worlds of crystals, and infinite galaxies. Japanese art collective teamLab, founded in 2001, conceived and created the incredible space.

With the Digital Art Museum the group of animators, mathematicians and programmers are definitely achieving their mission, which is to explore the relationship “between the world and oneself” and between “humans and nature”. Every moment is both mind-blowing and Instagram-worthy.

Where to Stay

Once again, choosing just one location was almost impossible here. People who get to see them all, or even just a few of them, should count themselves incredibly lucky. The spot that really caught our eye was the Ecoventura Theory in the Galápagos Islands.

Theory, an awe-inspiring yacht offers luxurious accommodation as it transports 20 passengers on week-long itineraries around the gorgeous and remote islands. Two naturalists, who will help you understand and appreciate everything about your beautiful surroundings, will accompany you.

One of only two yachts to be accepted into the prestigious Relais & Châteaux hospitality consortium, the Theory offers tranquil interiors with ocean views in oversize windows, an open bar and gourmet Ecuadorean cuisine. You’ll never want to leave!

Where to Eat and Drink

You’ll want to eat and drink at every place listed, but there was one venue that stood out for us right away, Wolfgat. In the sleepy seaside village of Paternoster, a two-hour drive from Cape Town, South Africa, the 2019 World Restaurant Award’s Best Restaurant is waiting to be discovered. Online bookings for the intimate 20-seater space need to be made at least three months in advance, and once you’ve tasted chef-owner Kobus van der Merwe’s creations you will understand why. The tasting menu features artfully combined local venison and lamb, sustainable seafood, garden pickings, seaweed from nearby rock pools and seasonal “veldkos” (wild vegetation gathered from the surrounding area). The results are sublime, and are perfectly complemented by Wolfgat’s incredible West Coast ocean views. Eating here is an unforgettable experience – in 2019 and beyond.
