Gadgets To Make Gaming Better

Modern digital games are a sight to behold, more advanced than they’ve ever been, by far. From high definition graphics and touchscreen controls, to online multiplayer that can put opponents together in a virtual room, regardless of where they may be in the world. In short; if you’re a gamer, there has never been a better time to be alive.

But one starts to wonder, just how much better can modern gaming really get? Surely graphics can only get so good, before they really don’t need to get any better. How, if at all, can games be improved beyond where they currently are?

Well, it just so happens that we are on the brink of a modern gaming revolution. A wave of new gadgets is coming, set to change the way we interact with games forever. We’re talking about virtual reality, movement based controls, augmented reality, and much more. Let’s take a look at some of the new gadgets that are going to make gaming better.

Virtual Reality

Virtual reality is already here, available for PC, mobile and PlayStation. Many have already experienced what virtual reality is capable of, and the general consensus is that it’s amazing. And of course it is; what wouldn’t be amazing about a pair of goggles that transport you to another world?

Virtual reality technology is currently only in its infancy, expensive and with little compatible software. But as the years progress, technology evolves, and VR becomes more accessible, we are all soon to be playing our games of online roulette on the moon, or perhaps under the ocean. There is almost no limit to what VR can achieve, and the online casino industry has already declared its intention to turn online casino games into magical VR experiences.

You may want to wait a little while before adopting VR, however, because it has already been said, in its current form, its an incredibly pricey buy.

Augmented Reality

Augmented reality is not currently as far along or usable as VR, but promises to be an equally as amazing experience. Augmented reality aims to place digital objects in your real world, via means of a pair of glasses and some seriously advanced technology. But how could that be possible? Holograms?

Augmented reality maps out a real world room, and places objects into the space via the viewing glasses, making it appear as if digital objects exist in the real world space. So, for example, a game of roulette could be played, with the wheel existing only in the digital world. Anyone watching a player may think the person has gone bonkers, playing an imaginary game of roulette. But to the player wearing the glasses it will all seem very real.

Of course, an interlinked set of viewing glasses will mean that everyone could participate in the same game, with the same digital roulette wheel appearing to all players. It sounds incredible, but won’t yet be available for a few years.

Motion Based Controllers

Of course, virtual reality and augmented reality won’t be very effective unless the player has some way of interacting with the digital creations, and this is where the new wave of motion based controllers come in.

Generally being a glove, wireless controller, or other such device, motion controllers act as a means of interaction with objects that are not there, except in a virtual world. In the case of the already existing HTC Vive virtual reality headset, the controller is a fairly simple looking handheld joystick.

But, the joystick tracks the movement of the player’s hand, and inserts it directly into the virtual reality world. This allows the player to pick up, push, and otherwise manipulate virtual reality objects. The result is an incredibly immersive gaming experience; all fully engrossing the player in a fantastic digital world.

Next Level Multiplayer

And all this is just scratching the surface of the new technology. Keep in mind that virtual worlds may be inhabited by a number of people at once, meaning that you could visit the casino on the moon with your friends, at the same time, in virtual reality

The friends could be seen, spoken to, and heard, as if they were in the same room, even if, in reality, they happened to be on the other side of the world. It all sounds like an incredible science fiction fantasy, but really is possible with the technology existing right now. It’s just a matter of time before the technology evolves, becomes more accessible, and is a part of everyone’s home gaming setup.

In the meantime, of course, we’ll all have to settle for standard online casino games, which are already pretty damn impressive, as they exist right now. Virtual reality casino games are already slowly becoming available, however, so keep your eye on the prices of those virtual reality headsets.
